Some workouts from the last couple of days. Vid 1 is Squats for 3 sets of 5. Vid 2 is double overhand grip holds got 3 sets of 15 seconds. Vid 3 is standing pin press for 3 sets of 4/5. Vid 4 is sumo rack pulls for 3 sets of 5. My form has improved a lot in this as I have only been doing this for 3 weeks. Vid 6 is power shrugs for 3 sets of 5 to 10. Vid 7 is box front Squats for 3 sets of 5. Still focused on my form and developing the right motor skills but getting there.

Resumed my workout & diet after a gap of a week. Last week has been pretty hectic with all the traveling and relocating. Went into the workout deciding to not push my body and keep it easy. But I was surprised with the way body responded. Could easily lift 130 kg on deadlift for 3 sets of 3 reps each(after 3 warmup sets). This goes to show that your body has tremendous capability. I am officially “parking” my dream of running a half marathon 😢 For those who have been paying attention, I have been persevering & persisting with pain in my left leg for months. Constantly searching for answers 👀 trying everything I can think of - all without any success. I hate accepting defeat, throwing my hands in the air & walking away 👋🏼 I am not a quitter ✖️ But I can’t think of it that way. This isn’t failure. It just is what it is. I have taken this as far as I can. I just have to let it go now 🙏🏼 .

Today I had my long awaited appointment for a compartment pressure test. I didn’t go into the appointment with much expectation bc I didn’t know what would happen or what would be recommended by the doc. He didn’t even do the test. After the 90 minute appointment, we established that I don’t have compartment syndrome. I may have Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome (big calf muscles which are trapping my poor arteries 😂 - something I was just born with, that is aggravated by intense exercise ie. running!!) I could go through the motions of diagnosis tests but the treatment for PEAS isn’t recommended by my doc. It’s expensive & invasive 💸 There are a few other factors which I won’t bore you with but overall his recommendation was to stop running. Work on some strengthening stuff (I have really weak glutes apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️) + some other stuff. And maybe try again in a few years. See if my body has changed. Start slow. See what happens 🤞🏼 But for the moment - the dream is over but that’s ok. Maybe in a few years I will want to try again. .

I am sad that I can’t run my half. Man I wanted it so bad. But I’m proud that I pushed myself as far as I did. I know that if my body didn’t fail me, I would have kicked that half marathons ass 👊🏼 & that will have to be enough for now! .

I will miss having the focus mostly. The big fuck off scary goal that terrifies you, excites you & makes you question your sanity frequently 🤣🤣 Running challenged me like nothing else has ever!! THAT ☝🏼is what I’m going to miss. Now I need to find something else to do that. Any suggestions? 💋

Killed it doing seated military presses the other day! 💪Getting better at this movement and am actually really starting to like it. 😁 Did a set of 20 45, set of 15 65, set of 12 95, and a set of 20 135 PR for front presses. Then did a set of 12 65, set of 12 95, and a set of 17 115 PR for behind the neck presses. 🤘 Then did 2 sets of 20 50 and 2 sets of 30 60 for upright rows. Lastly did 5 sets of dumbbell laterals with the 15s, 20s, and 25s to failure. 😳 Awesome session! This was after bench press and dumbbell presses so shoulders were already a little taxed. 😅
