(Not so fun) fact, I’m under a lot of stress with my dissertation. Luckily I have some great support/friends, one who gave me this awesome @dashofpep planner for goal setting ( @nutrition .by.rd ) and another ( @danaokwolfson )who told me to read self help books. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember in Sex and the City they had a funny montage of people crying next to the self help section 😥😭but I think self help books get a bad rap. I haven’t read one since “why men love bitches,” (aka the Torah) so I got some great recommendations in yesterday’s question sticker response in my stories. These range from changing your mindset, organizing, professional and romantic success etc.

Even if you’re nutrition, sleep, and workout game are all on point, you still don’t have control over how fast results happen. If you’re doing those things then they will, ultimately, happen. But you can’t control exactly when they happen.
The systems are the body are too complex to predict the rate an individual’s body can change. Genetics, stress, and a bajillion other factors affect what results you get from training and nutrition.
The only thing you can really control is your actions. You might not know how fast you can lose weight or build muscle, but you how what you should do to achieve those things.
There’s not really much point in wasting energy on things you can’t control. It’s more productive to divert that focus into the things you can.
Ironically enough, the quickest way to get results to almost forget about them. Embed your focus so deeply in the process, in making sure you follow through.
Put your energy into mastering the basics of: 🍗Eating more veggies/protein.
🍳Cooking meals at home.
🐢Eating slowly and mindfully.
😴Going to bed on time.
🏋️♀️Hitting the gym a few times a week.
And the results will follow.
Thinking about the results you want doesn’t get results. But consistently putting in the work to master the basics does.
