♥️ I’ve just finished a 7-days smartphone detox. I was much more productive, I’ve read a lot more than usual, my eyes were less tired. Maybe you would try it too? 😊 What I did to help myself with this challenge was literally hiding my phone somewhere in the house 😂 and I really wasn’t using it then.

Ähm, also wenn ich den Satz lese \'Frauen schwitzen nicht, sie glitzern\', fühle ich mich momentan eher wie eine ganze Diskokugel 😄🤦‍♀️. Trotzdem tat der Lauf mir unglaublich gut.
Schuhe an. Krampft da nicht die Wade? Lauf erstmal weiter. Puh ist das anstrengend. Aber so langsam läuft es. Die Gedanken schweifen ab. Der Atem wird regelmäßiger, die Schritte gleichmäßiger. Ein Lächeln breitet sich in meinem Gesicht aus. Ich fühle mich frei und leicht. Der Kopf wird leer und die Zeit verfliegt. Ich bin glücklich. Mit einem Lächeln komme ich zu Hause an. Feierabend.

Uma receita de dar água na boca eemm!!! Canoas de abobrinha
Tempo de preparo: 00:30 min
Ingredientes
3 colheres (sopa) de óleo
2 dentes de alho espremidos
300g de carne moída (patinho)
Sal e pimenta-do-reino
1/2 colher (chá) de orégano
1/2 colher (sopa) de raspas de limão
3 abobrinhas médias cortadas ao meio no sentido do comprimento
2 ovos
2 colheres (sopa) de requeijão cremoso
parmesão ralado para polvilhar
Modo de preparo:

Aqueça o óleo em fogo médio e refogue o alho. Acrescente a carne e refogue até ficar bem soltinha. Fora do fogo, tempere com sal e pimenta-do-reino a gosto, o orégano e as raspas.

Retire parte da polpa das metades de abobrinha, formando ‘canoas’ (cuidado para não perfurar as cascas), e misture a polpa picada ao recheio de carne, juntamente com os ovos levemente batidos e o requeijão.

Recheie as ‘canoas’, disponha em refratário, cubra com papel-alumínio e leve ao forno médio preaquecido (180 ºC) por 20 minutos.

Retire o papel, polvilhe o parmesão e leve de volta ao forno até gratinar.

Did you know that water is the main component of the body? In fact, the adult body is about 60-70% water! Our bodies use water in all of its cells, organs and tissues to help regulate body temperature, to transport oxygen, and glucose to our working muscles, it helps our bodies eliminate waste and toxins, as well as aiding in a few of other bodily functions that are vital for optimal living. About 15 years ago, a friend told me about “The Virginia Creeper Trail”. It is an old railroad line that weaves through a mountain in southwestern Virginia. The old railroad has been converted into a path for people to enjoy...walking, horseback riding, and biking. There are several bike companies that rent bikes and take guests to the top of the mountain. Then, the riders gradually ride downhill 17 miles. Or, the pedaling can continue (but it isn’t downhill) for a total of 34 miles. When my friend told me about her times on the trail, I kept this place tucked in the back of my head. I wanted to go to that place. I wanted to experience that adventure!

However, at close to 250 pounds, I knew I would struggle if I attempted the ride. I probably could have done it, but I never pursued it. I guess when I would have the idea to ride that far on a bike...I felt like it just wasn’t realistic. I felt a little panicky inside and thought that I wouldn’t enjoy myself because of the weight.

Fast forward 15 years and lots of lost pounds...
.
Yesterday morning, Mike, Cole, Cole’s friend, and I packed the car and made the four hour trek to Damascus, Virginia. We found a cute little local restaurant for lunch. (I had a salad without dressing, but snuck a few of Cole’s tater tots 😜!) And, we headed to the bike rental place. After we signed on the dotted line and picked our bikes, we were loaded into a passenger van. We started the long van ride to the top of the mountain...through many twists and turns! Mike kept asking me what I had gotten us into... 😆 After 30 minutes, the van stopped and dropped us off with the bikes. We didn’t know where we were or which way to go...but we found the arrow and started to coast down the mountain. It was a gorgeous ride...wild flowers and a rushing stream with small waterfalls lined the side of the path. After 3 hours and 17 miles on these bikes...we made it to the bottom! 🙌🏼 🙌🏼

This adventure was everything I expected and so. much. more! I’m so glad I was able to coast 17 miles down this mountain! But more importantly, I’m so glad that I am able to continue to coast through this weight loss journey! 🚲

You have to learn to roll with the punches – and it’s all much easier to do with a smile on your face! (or in Hampton’s case this cute lil smirk ☺️) #canthandlethecuteness
I always have a plan B for my workouts these days. My plan A might be a workout class, and my plan B is usually a quick but super effective home workout on my back patio. (see how this still allows the type-A in me to “plan” and be somewhat “in control” of things but also super flexible?! win all around!) Another thing that I’ve had to change since becoming a mom is my meal planning and prepping. I’ve always liked simple, quick and easy but now it is vital that whatever I’m doing takes as little time as possible since Hampton’s attention span is almost non-existent at 18 months. To hit my protein goals every day I usually supplement with a protein shake (side note: when I’m tracking, I aim to eat 1 g of protein per body weight). However, I don’t always have the time to get out the blender when I’m running from one activity to the next. SO, I have been thrilled to find these pre-made Clean Ready to Drink Protein Shakes from @sixstarpronutrition that I’ve been drinking almost every day for a for a few weeks now. SO, I have been thrilled to find these pre-made Clean Ready to Drink Protein Shakes from @sixstarpronutrition that I’ve been drinking almost every day for a for a few weeks now. They taste great, are only 150 calories with 32 G of whey protein and are so easy to grab on the go!
