first of all, this book is simply beautiful. the concept is fresh and it also deals with the issue of mental health quite maturely. this book isn't the typical boy-falls-for-girl or girl-falls-for-boy kinda book. it is about two people falling for one another, falling in love. love, which is a age old subject and on which thousand and lakhs of books have been written but still the way Jasmine approaches this concept of love, is new and improved. .
the story is about Asyel, Roman and their greif. Asyel is certain that she wants to end her life as soon as possible but she is also certain that she won't be able to do it all by herself. she needs someone who will help her do this. she needs a partner. then comes in picture- Roman. he seemed to Asyel as the typical high school heartthrob. but later on its revealed that Roman is not very different from her. that Roman is also certain that ending his life will end all his miseries. the story then follows the two teenagers who are haunted by the sins they didn't commit and how they find comfort and solace in one another's company. the way Jasmine describes Aysel and Roman's grief it makes you grieve for them, grieve with them. long after the novel is finished the story stays with you. A&R stay with you. .
what are the tragedies that drive them to take such decisions? do they really end up killing themselves together? or do they find a reason to continue living? these are few questions whose answers you will find when you will read the book.
this is a must have on your book shelf. i would highly recommend this book. (my) rating: 4/5. .
