Not too long ago I could barely look at myself in the mirror. I was horrified with how I looked. I saw every little flaw and was disgusted with myself. But why? Because I didn’t look like the Instagram models? Because I don’t have a super flat stomach? Because I don’t have a thigh gap? Because I don’t look like what I feel like I should? Who says you can’t love yourself just the way you are?💜 One day I looked at myself in the mirror and in my head thought of all the things I love about myself, and I started doing that day in and day out. Then I started to believe those things. I started to want to treat my body better. Feed it proper nutrition, give it the exercise it needs, drink enough water, get enough sleep, stop drinking so much Dr. Pepper (still love me some Dr. Pepper don’t get me wrong) and doing all these little things CONSISTENTLY! That’s the key word here, consistently. I noticed my waist getting a little smaller, my stomach a little flatter, my clothes started to fit a little better, I had a million times more energy, and for the first time in a long time I felt a little boost of confidence, and the motivation to keep going.
This year I made a promise to myself that I would love my body throughout the different stages of life. When I’m stressed, when I’m sad, when I’m happy, and I made a promise to myself that even though I may not want to, I will stay consistent. I will love myself and my body through every stage... and believe in the process. So even though I’m not at the goal I set for myself physically, here I am. Loving myself through the process ❤️ .
