When the heels come off the ground the base of support changes to the forefoot and creates a fulcrum for the body to pivot on. This now changes how the weight is distributed among the joints, instead of having the weigh push straight down there can be slight moments created with any movement of the body.

This is a problem because now the force vector changes from pointing down to adding a force that goes away from the body. This force creates translation of the femur over the tibia, this is not good for our tendons and ligaments, they are great at handling torque of the knee because it creates tensile forces on them, this motion adds shearing to your PCL and patellar tendon. This isn’t the end of the world in low incremental forces, the sissy squat mimics these forces however in low magnitude.

Recently I’ve been having some health issues up and down over the last few months. I haven’t ever really dealt with long periods of time not feeling energetic and healthy so this stretch of time has been a challenge and a half for me. But you know what, I think life throws challenges at us for a reason. To tell us something. .

This struggle has made me realise that a lot of us (including me) waste our time dwelling on shit that makes us feel worse and not enjoy the life we have. We worry about how we look, what we weigh, who we compare ourselves to, how much money we are making, how many likes we get on insta, what to post next on insta, what other people think about us, what the future holds.... I could go on. .
.
We are all lucky to be alive. It’s only when you’re not 100% healthy that this one hits. Take each day one at a time and be grateful for the wonderful experiences and people you have by your side ❤️

Especially from someone who's had a coach in the past that has, in my opinion, completely neglected their well-being and relationship with food.
Rachel and I have a long-term weight goal- we have to, she's a weight-category athletes with desires to compete at a certain weight. It would be negligent of me as a coach to not have that goal with her.
However, it would also be negligent of me as a coach to give a shit about that weight goal right now. For now, we focus on the process and developing a better relationship with food in general.
Rachel had a tough week last week- but she managed this so much better than she may have done previously, and her weight has stayed the same as a result. The way that she's dealt with the past week is worth way more to me than any arbitrary scale weight change.
I can't wait to see her continue to work hard and get the end result she wants and deserves.

Le choix de sa salle de sport est l'un des élément à ne pas sous estimer pour assurer une progression sur la durée. Les critères d'évaluation sont nombreux et leur appréciations va dépendre de chacun. Voilà déjà quelques éléments qui me semblent importants. - les pratiquants : Le niveau des pratiquants, toujours agréable d'être tiré vers le haut et motivé lorsque l'on s'entraîne avec du gros level ! La volonté de chacun de progresser, le respect et la convivialité. - le matériel mis à disposition: des machines de qualité, un nombre suffisant de rack à squat et bancs, des haltères assez lourdes, voir des outils plus rares comme les élastiques , anneaux de gymnastique ou autre safety barre... Plus il y a d'outils plus il y a de possibilités et potentiellement de progrès 😉 - les horaires d'ouverture : pour le gain de flexibilité... - l'aspect esthétique et la musique: ambiance power west side ou salle ultra moderne au style épuré, de l'orange tape à l'oeil ou des couleurs ternes.. Plus important qu'on ne le pense pour se sentir à l'aise 🙂 Et il y en a bien d'autres ! I'm Emma, a stubborn Swedish 23 year old girl studying e-commerce and digital marketing. In the future I would like to have my own company and be able to combine it with travelling. It's really one of my biggest interest in life - to explore new countries and beautiful places 🌍

My fitness journey started when I was backpacking with my bf in Asia 1,5 year ago. Before that I have never really set my foot on inside a gym. I've always been very active and tried a lot of different sports and activities but weight lifting has never been one of them. In the beginning I felt so awkward and didn't know what I was doing. Since I'm very competetive and want to be good at everything right away it was pretty difficult for me. But hey, everyone's a beginner at first. Right?! Eventually it will feel better and better 💪🏼
