Just a little over a year ago was when I finally decided to make better choices for myself when it came to my health and fitness. In the left photo I was already so stoked because I had lost some weight already. I got my jumpstart with @gaugegirltraining to learning about my nutrition, tracking macros, and my body type. So you know what?  I could tell you day after day that you can do this.  If you don’t have the belief that you can do this, then you wont.  You need to do this for you and if you don’t want it enough, the you sure as shit wont achieve it.  So don’t take the easy way out.  Set goals. Goals are individual not universal.  Just because someone can run further, lift heavier, go longer doesn’t mean that your effort isn't valid.  Work hard for your own goals.  Progress will come.  I didn’t say it was easy, but it will be worth it. I’ve NEVER been able to see my lats like this before 👀👀 I also don’t think I’ve ever been this lean before. Seeing changes like this is so cool. And what makes it even more cool is that I’ve been working my ass off for it. I think when you shift your outlook to see working towards change as EXCITING vs a chore or a comparison is when this gets much more fun. 💪🏼

Ya boy decided to start intuitive eating after being sick for a week and honestly it was such a good decision. Slowly losing weight and lifts are feeling crazy good. Either gonna be maxing out in a couple weeks or we’re gonna step on the platform in September not sure which to do yet. Either way this summer shall be one for the books. -

• I woke up in a bad mood. I carried myself around in a bad mood. I was into my bad mood. ⁣⁣

• I wasn't having conditioning, yesterday. I wasn't having much of anything. ⁣⁣

• I was ready to give up deadlifting at 135 pounds without even trying for more. ⁣⁣

• But because I had someone who wouldn't take my shit, I was pushed to lift 205 pounds, Ya'll. ⁣⁣

That is a new record for me in deadlifting and I wouldn't have gotten remotely close to it were it or for someone telling me to stop my whining and get my shit done. ⁣⁣

I didn't even realize this was possible and because of that push and that workout my endorphins shot through the roof. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It got me out of my I can't headspace and showed me that I CAN do it and better yet I should be doing it, even when, ESPECIALLY when I don't want to... like really really don't want to.⁣⁣

Remember that it's not the easy stuff that allows you to grow and become someone you're proud of. If you can already do something it's time to move up, (wo)man up, and push yourself to the next level. ⁣⁣

On February 5th I joined TGStrength, Team Training Geek coached by @lesterhokw . First step: get me to use my legs *appropriately*. This means I need to focus on learning how to move the bar depending on the amount of weight loaded. This is some of the timing, coordination needed to weightlift. This is in contrast to loading the bar with as much weight as possible and jumping (or something?). Honestly, I didn’t know what I was doing. And I felt that. I felt confused and unsure how to use my body. Now I am coached on what to do, how to move, what my angles should be, what it should feel like, what I should use, how I should use it/them, and to get more comfortable moving well before moving heavy. I’m less confused and I’m moving better, both are really important to me.
Lester seems to know what he is doing! 💜. First video is last week, 4.5 months of training together, first one is 6 weeks training together. 🏋️‍♀️ It’s tough being bad at something but it is fun to see your improvement, knowing you and your coach worked really hard to get there. We took advantage of a short break we got today from little man's tummy pains to explore our peaceful little spot by the water.
It's been a rough week for him going through treatment at home and needing round the clock care has worn us both out, so taking in a little ☀ and sea air did wonders for us.
I am so very grateful to be in this beautiful place at this time and looking forward to enjoying it more with little man when he's healthier.
