I bet some of us fitgirls will have heard this before. And also know how frustrating it can be to hear this 🙄 You are working your ass of (or rather on I hope 🍑), and still people are trying to bring you down. Well, do not listen to them, because I have some news for you:

It is very hard for a female to get as muscular as a men, because women ARE NOT men 🙅🏼‍♀️ Men normally have higher testosterone levels and naturally more muscle mass than females have. This makes it easier for men to build more muscle than it is for women 💪🏼

Besides that, you will need to live and act like a body builder for months to even years, to start looking like one 🏋🏼‍♀️ You will not wake up like Arnold Schwarzenegger the day after you trained arms for the first time. So do not be afraid to train with weights. Strength training has so many benefits for you, which I will discuss in my next post 👀

HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED? 🏋️‍♀️

Regular exercise is thought to be one of THE BEST ways to reduce our risk of ill health. But finding the time to work out can be really tricky! For us, exercise is the first thing that goes out of the window if we’re working late and feeling overwhelmed with everything that’s going on.

The reality is we spend most of our days sitting at our desks editing videos and photos, and having to sort out a never-ending list of admin (yawn). Things can quickly turn into a vicious cycle. Work late > skip exercise > feel tired > work late again, etc 😩
.
Sometimes we wake up super early on a Friday morning and it feels like we’ll never make it to that 7am HIIT class. But we remind each other that there’s no way we’ll ever regret going. Sometimes it doesn’t work and we’ll just hit that snooze button and we try to not feel guilty about it! But more often than not we’ll find time to exercise regularly and keep ourselves active.

Ultimately it’s the little rewards that keep us motivated. Knowing that we’re slowly getting stronger, keeping our bodies and minds active, and keeping our long-term health in check as much as we can.

The reality is we’re very lucky. Not everyone has access to facilities or the time to stay physically active. And if you already find yourself in that vicious cycle, in can be difficult to break it. We’ve been there and we know it can take a lot to pull ourselves out.

But keep an eye out for community initiatives. Our local gym is free to use from Friday through to Sunday for everyone who lives in the area. Also just 20 minutes of moderate exercise a day - whether it’s at home, a gym or on your commute - can significantly reduce our risk of ill health.

You’ve probably noticed we’ve been talking a lot more about fitness recently. It’s something we’ve always been passionate about and we feel it’s now the right time to share our journey with you. So expect to see lots more sweaty faces on your feeds #sorrynotsorry 😂

Ein sehr umstrittenes Thema und ich bin keine Expertin, aber kann euch gerne meine Meinung dazu sagen 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also vor ein paar Jahren habe ich auch darauf geachtet, nicht zu viel Soja Produkte zu essen, weil es ja hieß da sind zu viel Östrogene drin etc und das ist schlecht. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Derzeit esse ich sehr viel Soja Produkte eben weil ich einen Östrogenmangel habe/hatte (habe es lange nicht mehr prüfen lassen) ☝🏻 Aber das lustige ist eben, dass mir jetzt eigentlich gesagt wurde, dass man klar es versuchen kann über Lebensmittel ein wenig mehr Östrogen aufzunehmen, aber das das viel zu geringe Mengen sind und eben nicht das körpereigene Hormon ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gleichzeitig würde das aber ja auch bedeuten, dass es dann auch nicht große Auswirkungen haben kann, wenn man zu viel Soja Produkte isst. Der negative Hype also doch gar nicht stimmt ? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ich kann es nicht nachweisen, unser Körper und unsere Ernährung ist ein verzwicktes System und wie bei allem bin ich der Meinung, dass der Körper das alles in gewissen Maße kompensieren kann und man Soja Produkte ohne schlechtes Gewissen essen sollte, vielleicht nicht morgens, mittags, abends 100% Tofu, aber ich denke es spricht nichts dagegen, dass in seine tägliche Ernährung zu integrieren 😊 #balanceisthekey ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ein Mesozyklus ist ein aus mehreren Mikrozyklen bestehender Trainingsabschnitt, der in seiner inhaltlichen, didaktisch-methodischen und belastungsmäßigen Grundstruktur und damit in seiner Hauptwirkungsrichtung im Trainingsprozess wiederkehrt und dem veränderten Leistungszustand der Sportler entspricht (Schnabel et al., 1997, S. 320).
Im Leistungssport wird versucht, die angestrebten Anpassungseffekte (orientiert am Trainingsziel) eines Mesozyklus möglichst auszureizen. Die Dauer des Mesozyklus muss für diese Zielklientel dementsprechend länger sein. Im Fitness- und Gesundheitssport sollte aus pädagogischen und psychologischen Gründen die Mesozyklusdauer kürzer geplant werden. Hier hat sich eine Dauer von sechs bis acht Wochen etablieren können. Dadurch wird versucht, eine Trainingsmonotonie zu verhindern. Eine kürzere Gestaltung der Mesozyklen macht allerdings auch im Fitness- und Gesundheitssport keinen Sinn, da ein Mindestmaß an Zeit für relevante Anpassungs- prozesse vorhanden sein muss.
Die Gewährleistung der Einheit von Belastung/Beanspruchung und Erholung/Wiederherstellung ist für das gesamte sportliche Training, also auch für die Mesozyklen von Bedeutung. Speziell für die Mesozyklen ist zu beachten, dass sich trotz einer ausgewogenen Relation zwischen Belastung/Beanspruchung und Erholung/Wiederherstellung in den einzelnen Mikrozyklen, bei fortlaufendem Training ein zunächst unmerkliches, aber zunehmendes Aufstocken der Ermüdung von Mikrozyklus zu Mikrozyklus entwickelt (speziell im Leistungssport). Dieses Aufstocken der Ermüdung kann für fortgeschrittene Sportler einen zunächst wirkungsvollen Trainingsreiz ergeben. Eine positive Wirkung dieses Vorgangs ist aber nur dann zu erwarten, wenn es gelingt, die Grenze zur physischen und psychischen Überforderung zu erfassen und ein Tangieren oder gar Überschreiten dieser Grenze zu verhindern. Da diese Grenze nicht quantifizierbar ist, sollte im Fitness- und Gesundheitssport eine Ausschöpfung der physischen und psychischen Beanspruchbarkeit nicht angestrebt werden.

Laterals box jumps can be a little intimidating. If you're struggling with doing these just now that it's going to take practice. And I would suggest starting off by jumping on something small and slowly building up to something taller. Or at least that's how I do it with my clients.

It's all about the core! But what exactly is your 'core' and why should you care? ⁠

Many interchange the words abs with core, but the core is SO MUCH MORE than just abs. It is the girdle that wraps around your entire trunk area. Abs generally speaking refer to 'your six pack'. Your core includes:⁠
*Your six pack (rectus abdominals)⁠
*internal and external obliques⁠
*Diaphragm⁠
*Transverse (sits under your six pack!)⁠
*Spinal muscles large and small⁠
*Pelvic floor⁠
⁠
PHEW! Now hopefully you see why we always bang on about developing a strong core. It's the section between your upper and lower body, protects your organs, stabilises the spine and is pretty much the main source of stability in every day movement and exercise. It is huge in preventing injury and most back pain. ⁠

Incline bench press 410 x 3 x 1. Sets 1 and 2 shown. Video cut off on 3rd set. Not my best technique, but I will take it. Diet has been a little off as of late, but definitely got to get it together by the time for flat bench press. Losing weight tends to make you weaker too, just havent felt like eating a whole lot to keep strength levels up. Got squats tomorrow too so wish me luck lol. 1️⃣ Side lying hip raise: 4 x 10 each side, you’ll feel this one more in your supporting leg. Try to lift your leg as high as possible.
2️⃣ Frog pumps: 4 x 15, Place your feet against each other for this exercise. Push your hips upward while you’re pushing your knees outward. Make sure you contract your glutes while doing this exercise!
3️⃣ Back extension: 4 x 12, I don’t use any additional weight. I just try to really focus on my glutes and fully contract them for at least two seconds when I’m extended. ——————————————————————

When's the last time you took a breath?
I mean an actual deep breath into your belly? .
Breathing into your belly helps balance out your nervous system. Think Zen. I've been using this technique for quite some time to help my anxiety and stress levels. It also helps recovery post workout and is part of my pre-sleep routine. .
Next time you feel anxious or stressed, take several deep belly breaths and see how you feel. Try it!

I have always been around the 53/55kg mark and I decided after summer last year I wanted to gain a little more muscle mass. I didn’t have any particular time frame for this, it was just a new little goal for me to work towards. I took my time, I didn’t track calories, I ate as normal - sometimes a little more and experimented with foods, I done my normal weight training every week with one class per week for conditioning and cardio. (You will never see me on a treadmill- boring! 😆)

I don’t take protein or any supplements I get enough protein in the foods that I eat and if I lack I will have a shake but that’s very rare. ————————————————————————

I love exercise because of the way it makes me feel inside, it’s not all about the way it makes me look on the outside but is nice to have goals for yourself. ————————————————————————

Some days I feel so motivated, uplifted, positive and blessed about everything in life because we only get one life and there is so so much to live for and to get excited about. ————————————————————————
Other days I feel like I’m drowning and I can’t stay afloat. ————————————————————————
Why....? DEPRESSION - I feel so low and so negative about myself for no reason. I feel numb to everything because of the inner sadness which takes over. I stop caring and think that no one else cares about me. I feel so lonely and think that the world is against me.
ANXIETY - I feel afraid, I feel panic, I can’t breath, I overthink, I self doubt, I get frustrated. I’m wary of everyone and can’t deal with any other people because I’m that anxious with myself and I feel I would just bring them down too then they would hate me like I think I hate myself.
Some days I feel exhausted from trying to be okay. ————————————————————————
✨TODAY I feel OKAY and that’s ENOUGH! ✨
