It’s my rest day today, and these are my priorities:⁣

- 10/15k steps!⁣
- A stretch / yoga session⁣
- At least 2L water⁣
- Aim for 0.8g-1g protein per lb of bodyweight. ⁣
- At least 10 different types of vegetables. ⁣
- Wear compression, sometimes even when sleeping.
- Get to bed early! 7-8 hours sleep. ⁣

The first thing us humans tend to do is cancel the workout we had planned when there’s too much on our plate...DON’T! Take the 45-60 minutes for YOU. The post workout mental & physical feels are so much better then the feeling of defeat when you cancel. 👯‍♀️

One of the biggest reasons why I started my journey was because I was so so tired of self destructing. I was unhappy, letting people walk all over me and constantly getting nothing out of it but hurt -this is friendships and relationships. I was ready for a change. I had to unplug from social media, cut down on my talk time, pray and stay in a constant place of meditation. That was about 3 months ago when I started my “personal journey”. When I started working out, it was just like adding a piece to my puzzle. Working on my mind ✅ spirit ✅ and body ✅. Im saying all of this to say, I’ve been afraid to say out loud “I’m really happy right now” out of fear of jinxing that. But how unfair would it be to God knowing that he pulled me out of such a dark place and I wasn’t HAPPILY shouting to the world about it? Well, that’s why I started @active_healthy_happy_ !! To showcase that there are multiple ways to stay active other than physical. Work on YOU! Your mind, body, and spirit. You owe it to yourself, I PROMISE!!! 💘 •

I get it, there are times when no matter what or how much I eat I cannot get full 🥺

Here are some tips to control hunger!
✨
1. EAT & DO NOT SKIP MEALS-If you are hungry, haven’t eaten in a few hours and well hydrated, EAT!
To lower your risk of rummaging through the pantry, make sure you are consistently having a meal or snack every couple of hours. (This will help with regulating insulin levels throughout the day too.)
✨
1. Prioritize PROTEIN; Protein consumption is ESSENTIAL for recovery, growth and strength in your body. (I eat protein at EVERY MEAL)
✨
2.EAT SLOW- Have you ever been so hungry you eat your meal in 5 seconds? You will recognize your meal filling you up slowly when you take the time to eat, rather than going back for 2nds before your food even hit your stomach.
✨
3.DRINK WATER-Hydration is KEY! 💦 Next time you finish a meal, drink a couple cups of water, then evaluate if you are really hungry before 2nds.
✨
4.SLEEP: Sleep affects your hormones BIG TIME. Improper sleep causes a rise in “ghrelin”, AKA your hunger hormone.
When you aren’t sleeping your ghrelin RISES causing your appetite to increase. Ever been STARVING when you stay up in the wee hours of the night? GO TO SLEEP.

What is one thing you can work on this week? Mine is sleep...I know I am always STARVING and end up snackin when I stay I am not well rested.

TODAYS LEG FINISHER by @jorge_fitbyromao ! Loved it because you’re not only doing legs you will also train your core and upper body!! And the more muscles you use the more calories you burn 😜! Try to complete 3-5 rounds.
1. It’s not a full squat don’t come all the way up only 3/4 this way you are having tension the entire time.
2. 16 lunges in total so you are doing 8 each leg try to be as explosive as possible and remember to use your arms. If you can’t jump take the jump away and do reverse lunges instead.
3. This one is an an killer make sure you keep your legs steady with a 90 degree angle on your knees and you count each time you place the med ball on your legs.
SAVE IT TRY IT AND LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE IT!
