I had an interesting dream last night after going to bed trying to make peace with my anger about a recent situation. In it was a vivid scene where a demon was lurking outside looking through a window inside a home, seeking me, it’s prey. I crouched fearfully hiding inside the room against the wall just under the window. Then, a spiritual leader led a group prayer that caused the demon to lose interest and disappear. I felt temporarily safe.
Anger, fear and even happiness come and go as E-motions (or energy in motion) do. In my dream I didn’t feel Self-empowered but supported by a spiritual community. But what if I, the watcher of the dream, is represented in every character in that scene, including the hero AND predator? What did the demon have to say through its presence?
What does my anger have to reveal about my Self, perhaps shedding light on egoistic attachments that cloud my ability to see clearly and compassionately? What if in that dream I chose to confront the anger, aka demon, with kind inquiry instead of hiding from its supposed ugliness?

Just over a year ago I started the hardest journey of my life. I weight 282lbs and just wasn't happy with how I looked and knew my health had started to take the brunt.
With a lot of help from my underappreciated other half who I really couldn't have done it without. Whether as a personal trainer, nutritionist or just therapist at times. He's lost nearly 50lbs too. Now adding muscle and sculpting.
I started with a hard period of low calorie intake and light exercise. This mainly consisted of portion control and smart snack choices. Nothing drastic. Literally that simple.
Gradually moved from this to higher protein dinner options and heavy cardio. Later I mixed this in with some weight training, this was to start toning the muscle to help with sagging skin from fat loss.
I've over simplified eveeeerthing here and I'll explain gradually what I did but, that's just the gist.
Now I continue with the smart snack choices, smaller portions, cardio and weight training and mindful protein intake. I get a day off a week to ear whatever I want too. But I don't go super mental... Just sort of crazy. 😬 Currently at 178lbs. Down 104lbs. So far........ Just wanted to utilise this platform to document my journey so far and hopefully share progress toward my goal! Also maybe pick up some tips on how to get rid of those stubborn last few pounds!

We are the only species in the world who when something isn’t working we just double down and do more of it! ⠀

If you’re feeling stuck lately or overwhelmed it’s worth taking the time to pause and realize if you’re focusing energy on the RIGHT things. ⠀

Are you putting effort into actions and activities that will serve you in the long term? ⠀
⠀
Sometimes we get so caught up in the rat race or making it to the next goal that we lose sight of the big picture. ⠀
⠀
It’s okay to take a moment to pause, look up, and ask yourself if what you’re working so hard for is actually what you want. ⠀
⠀
I promise you pausing to evaluate won’t set you back, but not doing it? That has the potential to really screw you. ⠀
⠀
You can spend YEARS and dozens if not hundreds of hours on something that doesn’t really fulfill you or move you toward the life you want. ⠀
⠀
This can include: ⠀
👉 relationships ⠀
👉 careers ⠀
👉 free time ⠀
👉 finances ⠀

Basically all the things ⠀

What’s the first step in taking stock of your life. ⠀
⠀
👆Stop running faster: set aside at least 2-3 hours of uninterrupted time (put the phone away)⠀

✌️Slow down and write out a list or journal what you truly want your life to look like in 5 years (if that seems to overwhelming start with 1 year or 6 months). Then write WHY those activities or lifestyle matters to you. How does it connect to what’s important to you? ⠀
⠀
🤟Identify 3-5 steps you can take this week to nudge your current life in alignment with the future life you want. What changes [start teeny tiny] do you need to make [that you have control over!] to move in that direction? ⠀
⠀
You may be surprised to learn you weren’t even running in the right direction! ⠀
⠀
Now that you have a plan? Put it into action! ⠀
And if you want to pick up speed that’s okay, just don’t forget to slow down from time to time [I do a check in every 3-6 months] to make sure you’re running the right way. ⠀

Spending my last morning as a 40 year old at the gym 🏋️‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏃‍♀️ I officially started my workout regimen 1 year ago and have made TONS of progress and I'm only getting stronger with every workout (even the ones I don't want to do!) Zum Mittwoch steht heute bei mir ein Tag Pause an.
Knochen und Muskeln brauchen mal Ruhe. Ihr wisst ja, der Muskel wächst nicht im Training, sondern in der Ruhephase.😬 Früher habe ich regelmäßig zu viel und zu häufig trainiert ohne dem Körper ausreichend Erholung zu gönnen.
Mittlerweile kann ich den eigenen Körper aber ganz gut einschätzen und so vllt auch die ein oder andere Verletzung gar nicht erst aufkommen lassen, in dem ich mal einen Tag kürzer trete -> so schwer es auch ist sich zurückzuhalten😌

Achtet ihr auch auf regelmäßige Pausen oder geht's auch auf Biegen und Brechen ins Gym?
